Lavender Magic

"I have to write it down, at least, it's my deep deep appreciation to the selfless, wonderful nature"  This idea has popped in my brain so many times while I was driving.  I have to write it down.

If you could imagine this picture: a woman behind the wheel, takes out a perfume oil roll-on, rub the perfume oil on the back of her hand and has her hand right under her nose, then here comes that "real deep" sniffing & breathing while she's driving.  You would think something wrong with that weird woman.... Yep, that's me.  The majorly lavender scent works for me perfectly, the second it enters my nose, spells that magical soothing, calming and relaxing trick on me.  My mood would melt down like a fluffy air, calming and spreading into a peaceful, crisp and clean joy.  For me, it's not a perfume oil anymore.  It's an aromatherapy-on-the-go.  My own body temperature boosts the essential oil molecule and pops to my olfactory bud then to my brain.  (believe it or not... hubby would say "give me some of that good smelling stuff" when we drive together)

Few years ago I got this recipe from internet. A very simple & basic recipe to make perfume oil.  If you have these ingredients handy, give it a try and I guarantee it you won't regret.  Here is my recipe of my Lavender wonder:

0.29 oz  Golden Jojoba Oil
70 Drop  EO Lavender 40/42  (mid note)
25 Drop  EO Bergamot, Mint  (top note)
15 Drop  EO Pink Grapefruit   (top note)

This will make 2 ea 0.15 oz Roll-on bottle.  Mix ingredients and shake well.  Keep at dark place for at least 7 days for all ingredients to mellow together.  Shake everyday if you remember.  Bottle and enjoy.

You can try Bergamot Citrus instead of Bergamot Mint.  The result is a bit different but still good.  This blend will last long on your skin due to these essential oil nature (top & med tone).

Muscle Oil

Deep in my memory, my mom always keeps some traditional herbal tea or certain infused oil in the house.  Could it be traditional Chinese herbs or medicine which I have no idea what it was.....  every time when we twisted our finger, wrist, or foot ankle while playing like crazy, it get bruised and painful, mom would massage with the herbal oil.

Even now I still remember that comforting magic she does.  It soothes right away the pain and warms that little girl......    It's the magic mixture of love and natural essence and rooted deep inside my soul.

Base Oil: Sweet Almond, Apricot Kernel Oil, Grape Seed Oil & Evening Primrose Oil, infused with St. John Wort, Arnica, Chamomile & Nettle Sting Leave.
Essential Oil: Wintergreen, Birch, Thyme, Clove, Basil, Eucalyptus, Ginger & Black Pepper plus Vitamin E.

I've made several 1 oz & 2 oz bottles for my family & friends.  It's always a complete bliss & happiness to me when my handmade thing brings comfort to people :)  And maybe this is my way to enjoy life.....

Massage Oil - My Fair Lady

Busy, busy & busy.... think I'm pretty lousy with time management.  This friend's house remodeling has been on my top list for few weeks now and still got the final stage, maybe 1 week to go.  Along the way, my nerve and attention still cannot resist my "nose" sensation.

So, in-between my day job time gap, I made few tubes of massage oils.  One for female to ease pain, discomfort & stress for menstrual cramps.  It can also be used for PMS problems (Oh boy, a must-have for myself!!)  Base oils are Apricot Kernel, Grape Seed Oil and essential oil blend of Bergamot, Clary Sage, Geranium, Ginger & Marjoram.  Will call it "My Fair Lady".  Aaaah, aroma-life......

Filled the oil with roll-on bottle so I can have it in my handbag.  Also gave my friends to try.  I'm very happy with the oil when I learn that it works for my friends :)

Next project will be a massage oil for muscles.  Now I have my oils (Sweet Almond, Apricot Kernel, Grape Seed, Evening Primrose & Wheat Germ) infused with St. John Wort.

A lillte note of the path

It's been three weeks now since this good friend of mine started their new home remodel project.  We have been busy to help with design, sourcing and choosing material, hardware, engineering & fabrication.  Right before this project(3 weeks ago), I did a little bit for the love of the aromatherapy thing.  During the busy days, they keep me on the sunny and merry side, smell & visual-wise :)))))

Bath room diffuser with Rosemary & Litsea Cubeba.  Very nice aroma......

Herb infused oils on the bayview window platform: Jasmine, Rosehip, Calendula, Chamomile, Bluebonnet & Lavender.
